Best Coaching Business Programs for Coaches With 10+ Years of Corporate Experience

Which coaching business program fits 10+ years of corporate experience? A side-by-side of CEC, CTI, Georgetown, Vistage and Corporate to Coach®.

Best Coaching Business Programs for Coaches With 10+ Years of Corporate Experience

If you have 10+ years of corporate experience and you're building a coaching business, you need two kinds of program, and most people buy only one. A credential program teaches you to coach. A business program teaches you to get paid for it.

‍

Corporate to Coach® is the second kind: a six-week program for ICF-certified coaches, or coaches in process, who come out of senior leadership and need the business built.

‍

You have the years. You've led the team and owned the budget. What you don't have yet is the business, and that's a different job.

‍

I spent 20 years in Fortune 100 risk management and finished as Chief Product Officer of a $4 billion insurer. That career trained me to ask one question before any big decision: what's the structure, and where does it fail? Ask it about a coaching business and the answer is rarely "another credential." It's pricing, a pipeline and a plan for year one, the pieces a coach training program isn't built to teach.

What the programs that rank for this search actually teach

Search for programs aimed at people with 10+ years of corporate experience and the same names show up: credential programs, plus Vistage. They're good at what they do. Here's what each one offers, as listed on its own site in October 2026.

‍

Notice where your experience shows up. Vistage requires 10+ years of C-level experience with $5M+ in P&L responsibility. Georgetown asks for five years in coaching, HR, leadership or a related field.

‍

In both, your years are an entry requirement. In Corporate to Coach®, they're the raw material.

Why a credential doesn't solve the business problem

A credential answers one question: can you coach? The question costing you months is a different one. Can you price an offer, find your first ten clients and cover your costs while you do it?

‍

That's a business question, and it has a business answer. Corporate to Coach® costs a fraction of the coach training programs above, and it isn't a substitute for any of them. It's what you add once you can coach.

What a business program for you should cover

You don't need a primer on leadership. You need the pieces that turn what you already know into revenue. Corporate to Coach® runs six modules over six weeks:

‍

  • Vision and goals
  • Business plan
  • Menu of services and pricing
  • Brand and collateral
  • Operational setup
  • Pipeline plan, including 11 ways to source corporate clients

‍

It carries 25 ICF CCEs, earned in six weeks. More than 55 graduates across seven cohorts and Private Advisory have finished with a complete business plan.

Why the risk lens matters when you leave a senior role

Leaving a senior role is a calculated risk, not a leap. You can size it. I teach that through four risk pillars: professional, psychological, life obligations and financial. The Four Pillars of Entrepreneur Risk walks through each one.

‍

You don't need more courage. You need better data. A program built on that idea will feel different from one built on motivation.

Who should start somewhere else

If you aren't ICF certified and you aren't in a certification program, start with a credential. Corporate to Coach® is for coaches who are certified or in process.

Cohort or Insider Circle

Corporate to Coach® runs as a live cohort. The next one is April 2027, and the waitlist is open.

‍

If the dates don't work, the Solopreneur Insider Circle™ gives you the full Corporate to Coach® digital content and a community for $99 a month, self-paced. Insider Circle members aren't in a cohort, so there's no live facilitation and no cohort peer group.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as 10+ years of corporate experience? Ten or more years leading people and budgets inside an organization. That includes corporations, hospital systems, government agencies and nonprofits. The business-building work is the same for all of them.

‍

Do I need to be ICF certified before I join Corporate to Coach®? You need to be certified or in process. The program doesn't teach you to coach. It teaches you to build the business around the coaching you already do.

‍

How much does Corporate to Coach® cost? $2,799, or $2,499 with early registration, which saves $300.

‍

Does Corporate to Coach® count toward ICF CCEs? Yes. It carries 25 ICF CCEs: 8 Core Competency and 17 Resource Development, completed in six weeks.

‍

How is it different from a coach training program? A coach training program teaches you how to coach. Corporate to Coach® teaches you how to build a business around coaching: your offer, your pricing, your brand, your operations and your pipeline.
